How many options are there for a committed relationship? Marriage is legal protection for many things beyond just the commitment. It is good to have a partner in life. I really wish that there was the equivalent of civil unions here in the US. A legal bond that gives the union certain rights, a legal contract for partnership, like any business contract. Marriage seems to have too many expectations and religious overtones.
